GEORGE, GARDEN ROUTE – De Plaashuis, (Dutch for The Farmhouse), was built in 1973 in the traditional Cape Dutch style.
De Plaashuis is located in an upmarket area but offers a budget facility to make it affordable for all. We are frequented by reps, company workmen, and families due to this and are often used as a one-night stop for groups. Kindly read the description of the unit you chose. As we offer a basic family stay, please do not expect luxury amenities, as we would hate to have you arrive and be disappointed. Our ultimate aim is customer satisfaction, and we offer country hospitality within an affordable environment. The guesthouse is owner managed.

De Afrikaanse Nachten (The African Nights) occupies the first floor and enhances the ambiance of this great old Cape Dutch house, while all the other units are located on the ground floor.
All units, apart from De Schaapskooi (The Sheep Pen) & De Overloopkamer (The Overflow Room), have private bathrooms.
Every room is equipped with a kettle, a microwave oven, a smart TV, and a small fridge. Certain rooms have more substantial self-catering facilities. De Kippengreep (The Chicken Coup) has a private kitchenette while De Melkstal (The Milking Parlour) has a more substantial private kitchen.
Bed linen and towels are supplied in all rooms.
Meals can be arranged on request. Try our famous Farmhouse Breakfast.
Set on a large, corner property, De Plaashuis offers guests a large garden, a swimming pool, plenty of off-street parking, a number of braai (barbeque) areas, pool/billiards, darts, and board games. All guests receive a remote control for the vehicle gates. Guests have access to a large, communal lounge & dining room as well as FREE unlimited Wi-Fi.
We offer additional services to ensure a memorable and relaxing time with our establishments.
- Laundry @R40/kg (wash, dry & fold), an additional R10/kg for ironing. Minimum R100.
- Babysitting @R120/hour/child,
- Car wash @R120 exterior, and @R250 for the interior.
- Airport Shuttle (when available) @R300/trip/person.

Pets by prior arrangement. We are pet friendly in certain units, and charge a rate of R150 per day per pet for their stay. Only small breeds are allowed.
Situated at the foothills of the Outeniqua mountain range, close to George Botanical Gardens with day hiking trails only a footstep away. We are within walking distance from the SWD rugby stadium (Outeniqua Park), as well as the George Provincial Hospital, and close to Medi Clinic private hospital, Geneva clinic, and plastic surgery clinic.
